Where are the Prophets?

Where are the prophets who cry out to a godless generation to turn from their self-serving god-denying ways? Does God have a blind eye or ignore our faithlessness? Why is it, as a people, we think we can live and make our choices with no thought to our Creator or His requirements?

We ignore Him, deny His existence and shout by all we say and do, "We can save ourselves! We have no need of a God!"

So we have health care bills and job plans, we have telethons and fund-raisers. We delude ourselves that if we give a little and we're nice, (by our own standards, to those we deem worth our kindness), if there is a God, if, surely He'll see we're good enough.

Where are the prophets to expose the lies? We cannot save ourselves or heal ourselves or provide for ourselves except God allow it. All benefit to us or our loved ones or to a people is a grace given from the hand of God.

Should then,we be surprised, if He pulls back His hand when we are ungrateful and faithless?

We are a generation who worship celebrities who know no god, who abuse their relationships, with spouses, if they have even been brave enough to marry. They neglect their children and allow all manner of evil in and around them.

We are a generation fascinated with the occult, the dead and ghosts, witchcraft and the supernatural that is apart from God. Because we are powerless and refuse to submit to the only Great Power in all the universe, God Almighty.

We are a generation hungering after gossip and slander and malice all given in tabloids and even mainstream news. We delight at another's downfall and degradation and give no thought on how to seek the benefit of others.

Even our basic information gathering is tinted by opinion and innuendo. And there is no room for God in our lives.

Even we of the church hunker down in our buildings among our friends and excuse ourselves of our responsibility to warn the nations or even our own neighbors because... they might not want to hear, they might get mad and they might not like us. Besides we're busy with work and raising our families and see to our own needs. Or are they wants?

Which one of us will tell their neighbor that they will answer to the only living God on how they treat their spouse and children... Answer for how they spend their time and money... Answer for every careless word? Will we tell them that ignorance is no excuse, God wrote all His expectations down in the book, all the requirements and all the standards, even how to have peace with Him through Jesus Christ.

There is no argument any of us can make as to why we should not be held accountable to the standard. No childhood that excuses us from our responsibility and no neurosis that gets us a pass.

God's expectations for us are for right now, not for when I graduate from High School or College or get my career on track or when I reach the salary bracket I think I need to survive. It's not for when I'm out of debt or my savings and 401k have accumulated to a certain point. It's not for when Ifinally feel secure or have time enough.

God wants our lives-wholly His NOW!!! On His terms not ours, whether we like it or not. Recognize now He is King, ruling and governing with full and absolute authority. You are either at peace with Him through the blood of Jesus Christ-in which case He own you or...You are at War!

And what potter could not dash to pieces something He made that proved useless.
